The creation of a photograph does not end once the camera shutter snaps shut. The printing of an image is as intricate and important a process as the creation of the negative itself.

All black & white Johannah Hetherington photographs are hand-printed in the darkroom by a master printer, who may spend up to several hours printing one image. Once the final image has been created (and countless rejects have been tossed away), the final photograph is processed through a conglomerate of chemicals, toned, washed, dried for a day, flattened for another, spotted, signed, dated, and packaged. Photographs are printed on 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, and/or 16x20-inch papers available in a variety of tones and finishes.

Individual print prices begin at $150. An $1800 retainer towards the client's final print portfolio is required upon reservation of a sitting.
